Spec-driven · Agent swarm execution · Fully measured

Not just built for agents — built by agents.

braisOS wasn't just designed for the agentic company — it was built as one: every feature specified first, then shipped by a swarm of AI agents working in parallel waves, with one human making the decisions that matter. This is the whole build, measured.

All numbers measured on the main branch, 22 July 2026.

Spec-driven

Designed first, to the letter

Before the first line of code, braisOS existed as a complete specification — vision, architecture, integrations, and features, each level confirmed before the next began.

315

Spec documents

63,615 lines — roughly 496,000 words of design written before implementation.

43

Confirmed decisions

Locked across four levels: vision (6), architecture (8), integrations (10), and feature specs (19) — each level signed off before the next.

169

Numbered features

Specified across 19 feature specs — every one traceable from vision to shipped code.

34

Design dossiers

Deep-dive documents for the decisions that deserved more than a paragraph.

3 days

Design sign-off

All four design levels confirmed between 1 and 3 April 2026.

1:12

Spec→code leverage

63.6k lines of specification became ~741k lines of implementation.

The API surface

Four surfaces, one service layer

Every module exposes the same service functions through four thin adapters — tRPC for the web app, REST/OpenAPI for integrations, MCP for agents, and a CLI projected straight from the OpenAPI spec.

Quality

Built to be trusted

An agent workforce is only useful if you can trust what it ships. Every layer of braisOS is tested, translated, and seeded — enforced by automated gates, not good intentions.

1,229

Test files

~18,800 test cases across unit and integration suites.

56

End-to-end suites

Playwright suites drive a real browser through every page and cross-module flow.

8,732

Translation keys

× 2 languages (EN/IT), exact parity — the build fails if a string exists in one language but not the other.

160

Database models

Across 19 Postgres schemas, one per module — evolved through 78 migrations.

47

Background workers

With 44 job definitions — syncs, rollups, schedulers. Anything slower than 500 ms leaves the request path.

72

Registered entity types

Each with fixtures: 18,379 seeded rows, so every page can be exercised end-to-end.

Velocity

Built by agents

The build itself ran as an agent swarm: parallel waves of AI agents in isolated worktrees, merged and gate-checked after every wave, with a human approving the calls that matter.

108 → 502 tasks

The plan compounded

The original plan had 108 tasks. As the system compounded — features unlocking features — it grew to 502, up 365%. 501 shipped.

68 waves

Parallel execution

68 execution waves of parallel agents, all complete. 536 merge commits landed ~420 distinct agent worktree branches on main.

60 commits/day

Sustained pace

2,051 commits over 34 active build days — ~60 commits and ~15 shipped tasks per build day, with a 50-item skipped/deferred ledger kept honest in the open (24 closed).

Every commit, every day

2,051 commits over the 102-day span — 34 active build days, peaking at 275 commits on 4 April. All of May: zero. The swarm works in bursts.
